The James Room Remodeling at the Urbana Park District’s Phillips Recreation Center created an inviting yet functional modern teaching kitchen.  Barber & DeAtley, Inc. was the low bid General Contractor, implementing the plans of architect IGW Architecture.  With a very small footprint in an occupied building, the project involved many trades working together to complete the successful project.

The project included selective demolition, cutting and patching, a new window, doors, and hardware installation, acoustical ceilings, tape and paint, flooring, casework, solid surface countertops, appliance installation, plumbing, heating, and lighting.
