Barber & DeAtley, Inc., now in its third generation of family ownership, was founded in 1949. In our 70+ year history, we have been THE general contractor of choice for numerous commercial projects within a radius of 100 miles of Champaign-Urbana. We specialize in carpentry intensive projects within a cost range of $250,000 to $2,500,000, but have also completed projects exceeding $5,000,000. We enjoy an excellent reputation within the local architectural community and project owners for our attention to details. From the simple job, to the very difficult, our mission is to complete projects on time, within budget, and with superior craftsmanship. Our mission is understood by all employees of our firm, both office personnel and union tradesmen, who take pride in their work, completing a quality project on time and within budget.
Barber & DeAtley, Inc. performs its own excavation, grading, concrete, rough and finish carpentry work. We generally subcontract drywall and painting, masonry, and mechanical work. Barber & DeAtley, Inc. is an authorized builder of VP Buildings (pre-engineered steel), and we operate one of the few complete wood shops in the area.
